Deborah Caiola's painting draws on her study of anthropology and early career as a social worker. Caiola's work is marked by a fascination with representational painting, coupled with an interest in the inner self and the relationship of the self to the larger community. With her work, Caiola incorporates surreal and symbolic images with classical painting technique.
