Deborah Caiola received a B.A. in anthropology. After an early career as a social worker, she returned to school to earn a Certificate in painting from the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts. She has been an adjunct faculty member at Villanova University for eight years where she continues to teach painting and drawing. In addition, she teaches mixed media art to adults with mental disabilities. She has been exhibiting her work in Philadelphia since 1998, and more recently in New York. Deborah lives in Philadelphia with her partner and her seven year old daughter.
